Anna's Review of 'Remember Me' (Thank you Anna!)

*Kate I cant post it on the group's wall for some reason

What can I say about Rob’s new movie… I don’t even know where to start… Because I know beforehand that I can never be objective… Ok Let’s just give it a try, shall we?

By the time we arrived at the theatre, the lobby was already packed with people. We still needed to wait for two more friends before me, Evi and Kate could get to our seats. Kate’s guy called us in so we could be first in the row and get to pick where we wanted to sit. But me and Evi needed supplies, so we headed to the counter. “What movie are they showing now”, the guy at behind it asked, quite overwhelmed by how many people where already there in queue. “Remember Me, Rob’s new movie” answered a pretty old lady. Picking up our drinks and snacks, we headed to the top of the line, where Kate was chatting with a girl working for the theatre about how hot Rob is (how original!). Right after that, without knowing what to expect we walked slowly to the room and got our seats. People started walking in right behind us and I was totally taken aback by the three groups of people that attended this avant premiere: old ladies, gay men and us... just girls like us…

Trying to settle in my seat, fidgeting to get comfortable with my bag, my drinks, Evi’s nachos and my coat on my lap, I turned around when I heard people whispering about sth going on in the next row. Two girls started fighting over a damn seat, calling each other nasty names and I think some hair was pulled out too. So funny!

A few minutes later – boom – here starts the movie! The first scene was pretty strong. Everybody that wasn’t familiar with the leaked script was like “ah and awwww”, amplified a few moments later when he came on screen! As always, girls gasped and sighed when he smiled on the camera J If u ask me, his entrance here was more majestic than any of Edward’s. Pretty cool head start, I thought and quite funny.

The movie was simple, without effects, without any expensive decors, just a plain familiar image from America. You don’t get to know the exact time the movie takes place in and there are no clues throughout it whatsoever. Mark my words.

The story is very interesting, but as I have already stated, I cannot be that objective. Maybe it’s Rob that makes it interesting, or simply the fact of me being a hopeless romantic and a total sucker for love stories. It flows effortlessly, having really good moments of great laughs, jokes and really smart lines. All the fuckin actors are awesome in this movie! Tyler’s roommate is amazing! I love that guy! So cute and funny! Pierce Brosnan and Lena Olin are great as you expect them to be and Emilie De Raven is no match for stupid Kristen Stewart. Now that IS an actress! She plays great, makes you like her instantly and understand what Tyler sees in her. Well she has a really weird way or moving her mouth when she speaks, but I think she was perfect for this part.

As for Rob, well you haven’t seen him like that before. Now he is REALLY acting. His fight scenes are great! Never expected him to be so violent or so loud! Gosh! He gives Tyler the flesh, bones and spirit of a really rebellious young boy, struggling to move on, fighting back all the fears his traumatic childhood years gave birth to. He’s hot, he’s smart, he’s funny, he defies his dad’s mythic fortune to live alone with his friend like a rockstar and when he finds the one, he’s all you ever dreamed of. And the sex scenes? OK, let me put it this way: bring a along a frigging mop!

The film goes fast, but full of nice little moments that keep you interested. You don’t actually identify with the main characters, but you like them, you sympathize with them and everything they go through. And at the end, it peaks with the most unexpected way. Whether you have already read the script or not, it will still get to you, so bring out your tissues when you hear the familiar type of music playing. You will enjoy it, you will get your heart ripped apart for both good and bad reasons, you will leave the theatre with your stomach a knot and you will go through a minor depression for a while when you get back home..

I don’t want to sound like a fangirl or anything. This was really a great movie, maybe not the ones I usually pick for a night at the movies, probably one of those I watch on my couch on dvd. And if you hate Rob and the hype around him because of the Twilight phenomenon, reconsider and give him another chance for this one. Cos Remember Me is certainly a film to remember.

p.s. Thank you Anna!We love you babe! Kate & Katia (Pattinson Ladies)
