Rob & 'Bel Ami' to be discussed in Classics Book Club, Barnes & Noble.com

Popular British actor, Robert Pattinson, stars in the film adaptation of the French novel, Bel-Ami, currently finishing up production in Europe.  Meanwhile, members of the Classics Book Club at Barnes and Noble.com will be discussing the novel, written by Guy de Maupassant, in May.

Membership in the Barnes and Noble.com book clubs is free and open to the public, though registration is required.  New members may join at any time and participate in, or follow along with, the discussion.
Bel-Ami is about a young, ambitious journalist, Georges Duroy, who attempts to climb the career and social ladder through seducing successful and influential women. It is set in nineteenth-century Paris.

Mr. Pattinson plays Georges Duroy in the film adaptation. Christina Ricci plays Clotilde de Marelle; Uma Thurman plays Madeleine Forestier; and Kristin Scott Thomas plays Virginie Rousset. The movie is directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod from a screenplay adapted by Rachel Bennette.
